[pct-l] Thru hikers

Has anyone heard how Svein is doing?  Also wondering if you had a choice
of starting north from Belden or Ashland, which would you choose?  The
plan is to hike to Canada and then come back in the fall to the Sierra,
but have heard mixed reviews of northern CA.  Apreciate any thoughts.
