[pct-l] Create the ultimate PCTwebsite

<Thanks for volunteering to do this, Mike!>

You know, I would....if I knew how, had the time to create it and then
to maintain it.

The photo thing would be worth the new site by itself.
Though part of the pleasure of hiking is cresting that ridge and having
your breath taken away by the surprise of another awesome sight. Each
new view is a personal discovery on par with Columbus' first sight of
the New World.

But if I new that perfect campsite was just another hour's walk away, I
would have passed up the sloped, rocky perch I settled for because the
sun was setting.

What about you, Rob? Sounds like you have the programming and web
skills to pull this off.

Not trying to replace any existing site (as if any site could replace
PCTA.org). But a clickable map interface would be sweet to have access
to!

MapXchange on the National Geographic Topo! site www.topo.com has
several plots of at least the California section.

The PCTA site will provide links to worthwhile sites. As for content,
it's a matter of too little time and money as I understand it. There are
a number of other sites that also attempt to capture a lot of this data.

Carl's ADZPCTKO site also has a good collection of organized links, and
he too will add others.

locations/dates.

Trailjournals.com does a lot of this, but many use their own sites. PCTA
will link to any PCT trail journal.

Brawny has this on her site http://www.trailquest.net/webcams.html but
some are outdated. I have a number of links and have thought about
posting a list but, well, you know...

Thanks for volunteering to do this, Mike!
