Another solution is to go to Topos Map exchange. THere are a couple of PCT 
traces (.tpo files) in Map Exchange.

There is a way to get a GPS/.tpo/any other trace for the entire PCT, at a c.
100 points/mile resolution.

The process is:
1) Download google earth
2) Download the google earth PCT trace:
http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=239807&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1
3) save this file from google earth as a .KML file (an uncompressed version
of the .kmz file)
4) download GPS babel (or gpsu)
5) Use these utilities to convert the file from a .kml to whatever file type
you want including proprietary GPS formats. (or maybe topo can/will soon be
able to read KML - its becoming quite common as a format)

The resulting file will have 250,000 datapoints, ie 100/mile. If you have a
decent waypoint editing program, you can extract just the bits you want.
