[pct-l] Manning-Abbotsford-Sumas-Bellingham-Seattle?

Last fall, I asked a thru-hiker about a possible method of going by bus from
Manning to Seattle, avoiding Vancouver, that I thought I had heard of.
Although she had not done it herself, she replied:

"Yes-there is a way and several 05 hikers used this method... you can take a
bus to 
Abbotsford, BC from Manning Park. In Abbotsford, you get off the bus 
somewhere on Route 11--maybe near the Zellers or Sears, and you walk 
across the border at Sumas crossing. In Sumas, WA you can take a local 
bus to Bellingham, WA and then catch a bus to Seattle."

Is there anyone currently on PCT-L who has done this "alternate" way of
getting to Seattle from Manning and who could elaborate a bit?
