[pct-l] Looking for Yaktrax crampons feedback...



I have used them before; they are essentially a mesh of fancy rubber
bands with some wire wrapped around them.  Expect them to last about for
about 5 hours of real trail use.  And as soon as you get into mixed
terrain (such as rocks) they are toast.  

Yaktrax were created for people who shovel their driveways in icy
conditions, I wouldn't recommend them for any situation where you life
may be at risk.  In fact it's probably even more dangerous to use them
than not (due the false sense of security they might give)

Instep crampons might be a good lightweight option.

Buy the way.. I liked your new DVD.
