[pct-l] PCT-Prep clinc ahead

To all those interested in the fast approaching PCT-Prep clinic:
 
Here are the available dates between now and the KO that the Clinic can be  
held,
    March 10-13    March  17-20     March 24-27
    April  7-10        April 14-17
 
When would you like to go?
 
If you would like to have pictures of yourselves on the Clinic shown before  
the crowd at Trail Fest and the ADZPCTKO, we need to go March 24-27.
 
This 4-day, shakedown cruise will depart from Echo Pass Snowpark parking  lot 
and head into Desolation Wilderness and over Dick's Pass a total of twenty  
miles, then back out.  Although you will be on snowshoes or skis (which you  
will not need when on your own thru later), we will attempt to do at least 10  
miles per day, in part approximating what you'll need to do on snow later. 
 
There will be so much instruction...  overexposure, underhydration,  
snow-blindness, electrolyte and higher fat intake needs, ice axe and crampon  use, 
self-arrest practice, avalanche awareness and avoidance, snow camping, snow  
melting for water or creek extraction, climbing and descents on ice, soft snow,  
and post-holing, glissading, exhaustion management, frozen clothes and boots,  
etc., etc..
 
Right now the cost is 85.00 with six people interested.  Group max is  10 
making an individual cost of 50.00.  Spread the word and let us  know when you 
can attend.  Time is running out to refine your skills and  practice!
