[pct-l] Calling all tree huggers

This is slightly off topic. I just wanted everyone in
the Monterey Bay area to know that there are 17,000
threatened Monterey pine trees in the area. Why?
Because a developer has proposed to cut down the trees
to build the poorly named "The Forest Golf Course" in
what is known as the Del Monte Forest.
There are already about 20 golf courses in Monterey
County, but undeveloped forest land is rapidly
disappearing.
This Saturday morning at 10AM, a group is meeting at
Veterans' Park off Skyline Drive in Monterey to hike
in the forest and to discuss what can be done to help
protect the forest. It will be an easy hike -- more
like a saunter. The references below show the location
of the park.
