[pct-l] Declination...



Since the decllination changes all the time, the best way to keep your guidebooks up to date is to go to this site and put in the zip code of the town closest to the section you are going to hike on the date you are going to hike. http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/seg/geomag/jsp/struts/calcDeclination

At the beginning of each trail chapter in the Wilderness Press PCT Guidebooks, the declination is listed for that chapter.  Since the chapters/sections are relatively short, this declination is enough to keep your compass on track.
