[pct-l] ATTN: pepsi can stove maker at ADZPCTKO 2005?

hi there all.

i was one of the fortunate many (it seemed) who got a
pepsi can stove (and a windscreen!) made for him by a
couple of nice and hard-working fellows at a booth at
the kick off party in april 2005. this is directed to
them, or anyone who got one who knows about that
stove, or in general any smart alcohol-stove user out
there (there must be many).

i've never used an alcohol stove before (i used an
Optimus Crux on my 2004 thru-hike) and wanted to get
some tips. i've been doing some reading online and
know much more than i did before (perhaps just enough
to be dangerous... to myself).

it's a little pepsi can stove with three small holes
in the middle (for filling fuel i suppose) and burner
holes around the top edge. i guess this means it's a
(mostly) pressured jet burner?

my questions:

1. i assume you just fill the stove through the three
little holes... with a couple teaspoons of fuel (one
at a time)?

2. does it require a priming pan? i assume yes, since
there isn't a central reservoir to light and pressure
the fuel up to get the jets going. if so, what are
your hints for this process?

3. any idea of optimal height above the stove for the
bottom of my pot? 3/4" to 1" or so? i am going to
punch some holes near the top of the flashing
windscreen to insert Ti stakes to rest the pot on.
also, i assume you just want to leave a 1/4" or so
space between the outside of the pot and the
windscreen for CO2 to vent out?

4. any other hints, tips, tricks, or things i need to
know?

any help would be appreciated, and if you are the
folks who made it for me (or someone knows them),
thank you very much again!

fyi, here is a great resource for stoves, including
alcohol. it has tons of links to other sites as well:
