[pct-l] sell millions of acres of public land

Two of the biggest obstacles the PCTA faces in land protection and land
acquisition for the PCT is driven by two members of Congress. Richard Pombo
from Tracy California and Charles Taylor from North Carolina. Both of the
congressman serve on key committees and wield enormous influence on land
protection issues. Both of their seats are currently very secure, and both
have been rewarded handsomely with key appointments because of their
alignment with the administration. I am looking forward to meeting their
staff again (unlike other representatives they choose not to personally
meet) in DC this year as part of the PCTA's Hike the Hill advocacy efforts.
Nothing like a trail worth protecting to keep us motivated. It should also
be noted that this is not a partisan issue. Some of the strongest PCT
supporters in congress are Republicans.

go-BIG
