[pct-l] Post-Thanksgiving Sec. C hike, remaining SoBo's

My sons Jared and Chris and I did the 60 miles from Little Bear Springs
to I15, straight through, backpacking instead of day-hiking this time,
in 4 days, Nov. 26-29. Highlights:
Thanks to Daniel Braunstein, local Big Bear angel, for picking us up at
I15 and bringing us up to the trailhead to start.
Our car had a 72-hr CHP towing notice on it when we got back. Maybe
it's better to park up road near McDonald's?
Trail was pretty good; we sent specific comments to John Hachey re: work
needed.
Saw only one fisherman, maybe 20 dippers at the Hot Springs, that's all,
except:
On Monday morning, 11/28, while camped behind the Mojave Dam, we heard
screaming from the direction of the Deep Creek ford, which meant only
one thing: Southbounders. Sure enough, Hobbit Foot and Little Dreamer,
who regained their composure and headed up and away, but said it was the
worst ford since leaving Canada. We took the bridge and extra distance
around to 173.
After 2 years of Section hiking since leaving Mexico border 300+ miles
ago, we are getting a little tired of burned-up California chaparral and
long-distance freeway noise.
But we'll be back for the San Gabriel's.
