I have a GPSmap76CS and while it is a good unit it can't do this nor can any
standalone GPS unit.

Obviously, this is a Commie plot to deprive me of my rightfully fun things
to do on the trail. And technology has failed me again. I guess I will have
to look at the Pocket-PC/GPS. It is my right to have a small 7 inch square
screen that I can use as a cell phone, GPS, the PCTA map program,
FM/AM/MP3/shortwave, and Sunday - Monday Night Football viewing in camp with my Jippy-Pop
popcorn and cold drink. All this in my tent/tarp while it is storming
outside. I will be in my new Nunatak custom 800+ down sweater (probably will be
done in December - it is in cutting now) to be nice and warm.
By the way, the new Nunatak down sweater with hood is modified to parka long
in length, full zipper in front, and front pockets. It is really a cross
between a down sweater and a down jacket. I am having it made with Epic fabric
for the outer shell (black color) and a .85 oz. sq. yd. fabric in blue for
the inside. Should be just what I have needed for years and weigh in at under
one pound. I cannot wait to get it and hit the trail.
Also, if you want a down sweater in 1000 Elder down, it will only cost you
about $1000. A sleeping bag about $2000. But you will be the only one on
your block to have one, I bet.
Thanks for the info.
Cheers, Switchback
