Veterans Day -- for too, too many people, it's another day off or a day 
with holiday pay. and an excuse for sales. then there are the sunshine 
patriots who waive the flag and tell how much they support the veterans 
-- until it is time to appropriate the money and pay the taxes.

I was in the Navy 1965-1969. Spent 18 months in Vietnam: 16 months in 
DaNang and 2 more as liason with a Marine Bulk Fuel platoon up at Dong 
Ha airbase. As a former Vet Center counselor told a friend of mine: 
you've already lived through the worst part of your life.
