[pct-l] Re: Marine Corps Birthday

My step-dad is the director of the National Cemetery here. My dad was
in Viet Nam, Army. My grandpa on my mom's side served on the USS
Yorktown and survived Midway. Both my uncles on mom's side also served
in Viet Nam; one was a chopper mechanic, the other was on a submarine.
I had family in the first Gulf War, and I'm sure I've got some cousins
on dad's side in the 2nd one. We had brothers who fought each other in
the Civil War... family that fought at the Alamo... family that
defended us from the Brits in the Revolution... . I would have long
joined the military by now except they have a stupid rule that stops
me.

I'm always, always, always thankful that there have been men and women
who've given me the opportunity to live and America. Doesn't matter to
me about the politics, the presidents, or anything. What counts to me
is that they wanted to give themselves to the service of their
countrymen. I have infinite gratitude for you folks that had the
priviledge to serve, and to those who are still serving and still
patrolling. Thank you!
