[pct-l] To buckle or not to buckle

I have no experience what is better - buckle or unbuckle - while fording a ferocious creek.
In situations where you need a good balance and a firm step: definitely buckle everything you carry as near as possible to your nice body, DEFINITELY !  In case you lose balance with a pack swinging around you,  you take a big risk that your body wouldn' t stay nice any longer. And carry as less as possible outside your pack.
