[pct-l] Cascade Locks to Panther Creek in late fall, early winter?



Good evening, Cupcake,

As a local, I agree with Steady, Sr.'s comments about the weather, plus I
would like to mention another unrelated consideration.  At that latitude,
and around the end of the year, the sun sets about 4:30 PM and doesn't rise
till around 7:45 AM.  That's well over 15 hours of darkness.  Maybe you
could spend some of that time in front of a friendly campfire, but fires are
a pain to build and tend in that typically wet forest, and sitting in the
rain in front of a smoky fire is not all that it's cracked up to be.  That
means tent-time.  I recommend planning something really interesting to do in
a tiny backpacker's tent for 5 or 6 of those hours when you are not
sleeping.
