[pct-l] north from Belden

My husband and I just hiked Sierra City to Old Station in 2 long weekends.
Both times we left a car at Belden at the Equestrian Trail head for 4 days/3
nights. No problems. There were people camped there who didn't bother us. It
was also very dusty. The people at the bar down the street were not very
helpful or friendly. Fish and Chips

This month I was thinking of making up some trail that I missed due to fire
damage a few
years ago, hiking up the PCT from Belden to the top of the ridge and then,
the
next day,
back down the
Indian Creek road/trail, which was the detour after the fire.

Is it legal and advisable to park overnight at the Belden rest area?

Are there Forest Service campgrounds open near Belden? I remember there
was one
near
Belden Town, right next to the railroad, that was full of railroad people
when I
went by.

If you call the Belden Post Office or just go there and ask, the postmaster
knows all. She can tell you where to park (maybe even at her house, the
post office). A little trail behind the postoffice cuts uphill to the
trail.
Camping? Drive east about 3 miles to Caribou Corners, a funky little
restaurant with showers and laundry. Burgers fries and shakes are good..
Turn left up the river. You'll come to the campground. USFS
But immediately after that is a free campsite between the road and the
river, then another, then another.........................................
