It isn't quite clear what you are attempting. It sounds like you are
talking about the hybrid resupply method of buying food in larger towns
and shipping packages ahead to yourself. For example, many hikers spend
a day in Ashland shopping and sending resupply packages to themselves at
the various small resorts in Oregon. Similarly hikers spend time doing
this in Cascade Locks for Washington.
If this is the approach you are talking about, it is quite common and
well documented in Yogi's PCT Handbook.
