One suggestion I've made to one of the ADZ organizers is
that the ADZ and/or PCT web sites have an area where thru-hikers
can register their planned departure date.  By collecting
that information and making it available it should help hikers
smooth out their distribution on their own.  Without such
information it really isn't possible.

I understand that people have to make plane reservations and such
but everyone doesn't make their reservations on the same day
so as the calendar slowly fills with planned departure
dates it should provide useful feedback to those who have yet
to commit to a departure date.
