[pct-l] Why I boycotted the ADZPCTKO; Thoughts... ; Let's pull it together people

Greg doesn't speak for all ADZ organizers when he says "yawn." The
concerns that Donna has raised are worth exploring, and (after we
catch our breath from the event just completed) we will do that. As
she has mentioned, she raised the issue last year, and we have take
some steps to mitigate the problem; I think we can do more.

I'd also like to respond to the perceived slight against non-thru
hikers felt by enyapjr: We (and I think I'm speaking for all the ADZ
organizers here) have nothing against non-thru hikers and, indeed,
most of the organizers have not yet thru-hiked the PCT. But from the
very beginning, current-year thru-hikers have been the entire focus of
the ADZPCTKO. The other attendees are incidental to ADZ, as far as
we're concerned. Every decision we make regarding ADZ is filtered
through this question: Does this improve the thru-hikers' experience?

Btw, don't expect a response from Greg anytime soon, as he'll be out
of town for the next week or so. (Based on the number of people he's
managed to piss off today, that might be a good thing! <g>)

Cheers,
Carl
