BlankAgain Greetings and Salutations to ALL
This is My second Kick Off. I honestly believe that if it were not for the Kick Off I would not be Inspired to do a thru hike. I have wanted to hike the PCT since 1969 when I first heard about it camping in Yosemite. My youngest daughter had always wanted to hike it with me. That won't happen, She passed away in at the age of 34 in 2002. I had never heard of The ADZ, I did know of the PCTA but never had contacted them for any reason. My Grandson (of my oldest daughter) Eagle Scout and my FRIEND "Oilcan" started hiking the trail in 2003 with our scout troop. We did two day hikes from the border to Lake Morena and after that the scouts did not want to go any more, but the desire to hike the trail started. Quite a few months later Mike "Oilcan" Saenz told me about the Kick Off. I said I would go but had no Idea what it was about other than PCT hikers had a gathering. This has been our second KO and I honestly believe that this Gathering has given me the inspiration and desire to complete a thru hike. I truly would love to be a trail angel some day, we shall see. I can't see folding up the ADZ because of one trail angel even if they are said to be the best. I love ADZ.
This is what I believe. May you all have a happy and wonderful life at home and on the trail, where ever that trail may be. Remember
"Be Prepared" Ground Pounder Bill "Semper Fi"
PS how the heck do you get that first word, Blank, for the background out of there?
