Concerning Idyllwild...
 
Talked with the folks at The Tahquitz Inn.  They're open for business  and 
expecting Thruhikers.  Hiker rate is $50 for a room for  2  people. They have a 
hot tub and a BBQ area, and, in the past, a hiker box  where you can obtain 
plenty of corn pasta...har.  They also give rides to  and from the trailhead.  
Although they don't ask for it, make gas donation  if you can.
 
About Tyvek:  Community Lumber (and hardware) has Tyvek by the  foot.  The 
price is $2.25 a linear foot and is 9 feet in width. They  will be closed the 
week of May 9th... which, if you left from the KO and this  still affects you, 
you will have been in deep shi...er deep snow anyway.   This may be moot 
information if Mad Monty shows up at the KO, since he  usually flies a tyvek 
parachute in from Oregon and sells same.    My  conversation with him says it's 50-50 
at this point whether he'll be able to  make, and, as of this moment he has 
not pre-registered.
