I would expect the water caches in San Diego County to have been established
by April 23 (Lucky 5, Scissors Crossing, and Third Gate). However, I would
never rely on a cache. Even if stocked with more water than imaginable, a
sudden heat wave combined with a large herd of hikers could wipe it out
before you get there. It's happened before. Use the water cache to make the
hike a little more pleasant, taking a couple liters and leaving the rest for
others. More importantly, don't use them for a shower!

Thanks for the update.  We will be starting out on April 27th.  Do you think
the caches will be there at that time?
