Let's see now.....

WA and OR with well-below-average snowpack to date
WA preparing to fight forest fires due to dryness (OR never prepares for 
anything)
Sierras have well-above-average snowpack to date
Southern CA torrential rains = probable trail damage that needs repair

DEFINITELY sounds like a south-bound year for both the PCT and the CDT.
