[pct-l] Southern Sierra Snow Musings

There has been a lot of talk here about the winter of 1978 versus this year.
For the record, the March 1st snow depth level for Upper Tyndall Creek snow
survey site, at 11,400' elevation, located near Forester Pass (your highest and
toughest hurdle in the Sierra) in 1978 was 34 inches. Currently, one week
shy of March 1st, this site is showing about 28 inches. Historically, this puts
the snow level up with the heaviest years but not yet a record. The fat lady
hasn't sung yet! Warm snow melting weather may in the works for Spring, OR,
more snow and cold.

Ah, Spring in the Sierra this year shall definately be a glorious thing!
