We have used the same gas stove for a triple crown. Never had anybody
ridicule us either. The stove is now in PA where we will pick it up Friday
for our hike of the ADT. We're expecting to put 5000 more miles on the same
stove. No problems. Ever. Including in forests that were closed to all
flames except commercial white gas or butane stoves.
We have looked at the alcohol stoves and believe that for 2 of us we can
boil water faster and carry almost the same weight as an alcohol stove and
fuel. Deems may be the person who convinces us otherwise. But for now, it's
butane all the way.

The potatoes have now browned nicely. I've set them aside to scramble up
the eggs, which are now whipped up and fluffy. I've tossed in the bacon
a minute ago and the aroma is intoxicating...it attracts Bryan....
After throwing in the potatoes and onions, mixing it all together over
the heat, the pot is pulled from the heat and tortillas are now
flip-cooked over the wide flame of the stove. After a tortilla is
warmed, I fill it with the breakfast mix, add a little salsa from a
packet I packed in...roll it up...and take a big bite.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Try THAT with a pepsi can! -- nope--

I wouldn't dare ill advise or convince erronously. Accept advise freely, and
make wise choices based upon needs and experience. hyoh. As Clint said,
a guy has to know his limits, even when trail cooking. Everyone loves a
great meal and trail chef!! GottaWalk duo, have a great walk!! Wow!
What is that infamous gas stove's trail name!?
