[pct-l] central Oregon transportation

Matt,

As far as buses, don't count on it. No buses go to McKenzie Pass. The
extremely convoluted road is scary to drive in a passenger car sometimes. A
bus simply couldn't make it up there. I suggest hitching from Sisters.
Shouldn't be too hard on a summer day.

As for Breitenbush, it'd be easier to start- or end- at the crossing of Hwy.
26. Breitenbush Lake is in the middle of BFE, a long way from pavement.

As for a ride, I live in Ashland, which is several hours south. If the date
comes and you have no other recourse, send me a message.

Subject: [pct-l] central Oregon transportation

I'm thinking of hiking a little 57 mile missed section in central Oregon
this summer & was wondering if anyone knows where I can find bus or other
transportation info. I seem to recall there was a bus that would stop at
McKenzie Pass?? Anyway, I'd like to hike from Hwy 242 up to around
Breitenbush Lake (or the reverse). I'll probably have a car at one end or
the other.

Or, since the Breitenbush area is pretty remote, if anyone happens to live
in that area, a shuttle would be perfect. I would be very willing to
compensate for time & mileage.

Just wondering,
