I hate it when you're angry....

The kick-off will undoubtedly be the bash of the year, no argument here.

When a person makes a 4-5 month commitment to WALK FROM MEXICO
TO CANADA, the hike will truly be the one of the highlights of their life.

The hike is all-encompassing; the point of focus. The kick-off party is incidental;
one of the experiences along the way.

The kick-off party is not a requirement for their hike. Planning your hike to 
accomodate the party is OPTIONAL. 

Allowing others to embed themselves into YOUR journey is also optional.
