[pct-l] My Non-Continuous Thru-Hike

As Strider said, the ADZ date has to be set far in advance, primarily to
secure a site.

If this date is not when you want to start, but you still want to attend
ADZ, there are some options.

1. Stay at Lake Morena Campground until you are ready. The hiker site is
just $2 per night including hot showers.

2. Find a cheap room in San Diego and see the sights. You could visit the
famous zoo daily to study bear behavior to learn how they will try to steal
your food in the Sierra, for instance. <grin>

3. Or, if you want to start BEFORE the ADZ, consult the ride board (to be
available in a month or so, to get a ride from points north to the ADZ and
then back to the trail after.

Now, if someone wants to fund the purchase of our own site at the southern
terminus of the PCT
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15841&item=435112847
3&rd=1), and fund and endowment to cover future taxes, insurance, and
maintenance, we could run the event throughout the season. <GRIN>

"As the entry date into the Sierra's is THE variable, maybe the kick-off
party
date should be variable too? "

The ADZ will be held on the last weekend of April regardless of the weather
