Weight loss???????? I gained 20 or more pounds from
Mexico to Canada! Even though I was a dishwasher at a
restaurant and could eat anything I wanted, I was only
eating 2 meals a day before I left. I weighed 135
(very low for me) at Campo. After the Sierras, I was
ravenous and ate everything I had plus anything I got
my hands on both in town and on trail. I weighed 155
when I got home; I normally weigh 150. I was home
several months before my hunger subsided. I ate more
than 12 gallons of ice cream along the way so that had
something to do with it.

most weight loss ,

AVERAGE Loss. I will

else....Oh, and in

both places....

started visualizing a

follow the herd up the

we're talking extensive

samples and muscle biopsies.
I turned 50 this summer and decided I'd better do a
better job of staying in shape so I bought a heart
monitor. I use it faithfully and record everything in
a journal. I am doing a 3 week section hike from
Campo north this spring (my 30 year anniversary) and
will be using the heart monitor simply for my own
interest. I'll be easy to spot: the only idiot out
there with a big white stripe around his chest in an
otherwise perfectly tanned body. ;-)
