[pct-l] Instant coffee tastes awful?? Cowboy Coffee

Thank you, everyone, for your help with this question. So far even the
coffee roasters themselves can't recommend a good tasting instant. Even
tasting like instant, it fits the hiking mode.
Ground coffee? I've also found that soaking good coffee (not Folgers or
MJB type) overnight in my titanium pot makes great, smooth, and less bitter
coffee. The grounds are sunk before I heat the coffee.
>From the grinder to the post office to the hike and to the pot, my coffee's
been getting very stale. Eventually tastes awful. A few of the better
small roasters foil pack a variety of Arabican beans in one pot portions
(Somewhere near two ounces). Two of those per restock?
Deitrich's of L.A. and Alpen Sierra Coffee of South Tahoe (Right accross
from Ziggy's Southshore Inn) are two I know of.

Thank You
I've narrowed it down to instant with a cringe
or great tasting ground coffee with a mess and a little extra trash.
