[pct-l] S.CA San Gorgonio Pass - Cottonwood Fire

According to the PCTA web site...

"Fire in Mission Creek Area (end of section B, beginning section C,
CA):
(Posted 5-19-04) Last week a fire in the Mission Creek area
(approximately between Whitewater and Cottonwood canyons) crossed the
PCT and firefighters had to hand-dig fire lines crossing the trail. Use
extreme caution in the area and make sure to stay on the PCT and NOT to
follow the fire lines. The trail will be outlined with large rocks in
the near future."

However, the San Bernardino NF web site states:

"Forest Closure has been lifted and the Forest is again open with the
exception of areas burned in the latest fires.
Please see the Newsroom News Release for specific information regarding
those areas remaining closed."

...but the 'Newsroom' does NOT have any current article regarding
closures!

So, it looks like it's 'good to go' to me, but you might want to check
with San Bernardino NF before going...
