[pct-l] mailing labels
My understanding from posts to this list is that priority mail pkgs can be
forwarded without additional postage! If so, having labels in your bounce
bounce box or other container could contribute to convenience or efficiency
at times.
1. You'll be part of a community of hikers, and will be leap-frogging with
some. You might want to hike out of a town on a day the PO is closed. With
bounce box closed and labeled, you could in some instances leave it with
another hiker taking that day as a zero who would drop it for you at the PO
the next day the PO is open.
2. There are probably more than a few POs that will be out of labels or
never have them. Some POs are just stores with adjunct (and limited) USPS
operation.
3. Adhesion of labels to smooth containers, such as five-gallon plastic
buckets some hikers use, may be marginal. Tape over the labels could
improve adhesion.
4. Roles in #1 above could be switched, with you helping out another hiker,
including giving her/him a label from your supply!
5. After you tire of hiking, stick a label to the forehead and mail
yourself?
