[pct-l] The last twenty miles of B

March 20, 21

solid snow line at the Fuller Ridge trailhead (postholing to knee depth)
snow patches across the trail for the first 1.5 miles
no water 'till the fountain, with the exception of one tank around the
12 mile point which held about 40 gallons of thick green fluid
one speckled rattlesnake at the 3000 foot level
plenty of skeeters, no ticks
fountain working

While the air temps across the desert floor were recorded at only 86
degrees F, the sun was intense enough to trouble both of us. We had
plenty of water, but the lack of shade caused us to heat up to the point
of mild nausea
