  The same can be said for ANY animal, not just dogs, so you are painting a 
lot of people into the same corner. The Indians in Havasu didn't force THEIR 
dogs to go along. They most certainly made their OWN choice to hike 18 miles in 
the desert heat. I didn't see any leashes
