Out of curiosity, how was the mileage data in the guide book generated?
Was it tracked with a GPS?
I have to admit that I have not yet purchased my guide book...*sheepish blush here*

AsABat's mileage is correct. if there is ever a discrepancy in mileage, go
with the Data Book mileage, which is what AsABat used.
Camping north of Scissors? The trail north of Scissors is a climb. Not
many flat spots at all until you're at the top of the climb. There are one
or two washes you could camp in if there is NO chance of rain. I'd suggest
taking the first place you find.
