[pct-l] New Shoe Setup - Inserts?

The flimsy insoles that come with running shoes are ineffective for me;
I will be hobbled by metatarsal pain in a few minutes. I have found
permanent relief with Birkenstock blue footbeds:

I take out the insoles that come with my shoes, first put in a flat
green Spenco trimmed to fit, followed by the footbed. The footbed &
Spenco have lasted through several pairs of shoes - they are incredibly
durable.
