[pct-l] More Introductions

Hi Everyone,

Well its time for another intro. I have been lurking for a couple months
while reading up on the archives. Noticed a thread a while back with lots
of introductions and I have been waiting for the volume of messages to slow
down some to add mine.

I am planning on thru hiking the PCT this year with "Walking Carrot" aka Deb
Hunsicker. So, if anyone is still keeping track of potential members of the
class of '04 (as it looks like someone was once doing) then add our names to
the list. Some of the regular contributors to this list will recognize us,
as we have attended several of the ALDHA West gatherings in recent years.
But to many others a more complete introduction may be warranted.

The "Carrot" (her closer hiking friends know her by her shortened name) and
I thru hiked the AT in 1997, we walked the "Coast to Coast" trail in England
in '02, spent 2 months trekking in South America in '98, paddled the length
of the Yukon river in 2000, and spent 2 months hiking and paddling in Baja
last February and March. We have also taken many other shorter hikes and
paddles.

This will be the Carrot's first PCT thru hike, although she has seen many of
the PCT's highlights on some of our shorter trips. For me this will be a
"ten year retrospective" as I thru hiked the PCT in 1994. Since then we
have followed the adventures of many others on the PCT. So I know a lot has
changed, mainly with the development of greater trail awareness, more of a
trail "culture", more hostels, more trail angels and the wonderful ADZPCTKO
event, which we are planning on attending ; POs have closed and opened and
moved and town services have changed. I have enjoyed many of the posts on
this lists for the insights that have been offered on theses changes. This
list is a great resource and I hope to be able to contribute more in the
future.

For now, we are living in North Idaho and are spending a lot of time
snowshoeing to get in shape for the hike.

See you on the trail........
