Yes, there is a hostel in Belden. It opened in 2003. It's owned by Brenda
and Laurie Braaten, who are married (Brenda is female, Laurie is male).
They're from the east coast, and spent several years looking for the perfect
PCT town for their hostel. They definitely picked the right town when they
chose Belden. They're about a mile from Belden Town, but their phone number
was posted at the trailhead. Call them from the Belden Store, and they'll
pick you up. They'll give you a ride to the PO and take you back to the
trail the next day. There is a store (Caribou Crossroads) about a 10 minute
walk from the hostel.
The PCTA website has the contact information for this hostel.
Belden Town is creepy and not hiker-friendly. This hostel has made Belden a
decent stop. And, in my opinion, the Belden Postmaster is the most friendly
Postmaster on the trail.
