Take a can of beer, drink it, and use a pair of scissors to cut off 
the bottom 1.5-2 inches.  This is your stove and it works about as well 
as the fancier, double walled, ported stoves you can find at, say, 
www.pcthiker.com.  If you want to get fancy, put a little fiberglass 
insulation in it to act as a wick.  I cut up part of a coffee can to 
work as a pot stand, but there are lots of other methods (bend up a 
metal hanger, hardware cloth, a couple of rocks, etc).
