[pct-l] An Aqua Mira Question

It's possible that Aqua Mira uses the same principle as Purogene (another
commercial chlorine dioxide product)

Although labeled as a chlorine dioxide, it is actually a buffered solution
of sodium chlorite. Upon reaction with an acid, chlorine dioxide is
produced, which in turn will oxidize to chlorite in the treated water.

Now the only question is what component is the real biocide ?? the oxygen
ions or the chlorite ions ?
