[pct-l] Chester, CA Re-supply?

Chester has several fairly inexpensive motels (no A/C at any of them
though..it was 115 degrees when we went thru) and a laundramat..as well as
two places with public internet access; the library and the Almanor Basin
Community center. I stayed at the Timber House lodge and ate at the
restaurant there a couple of times. I had the best steak on the trail
there..a 24 oz porterhouse with garlic potatoes, veggies, and salad for
about 15 bucks as I recall. They have a decent Chinese restaurant in town
also..

They had a couple of sporting good stores but were mostly geared towards car
camping and fishing. I talked with the owner of the local bicycle shop and
he stated that there were plans in the works to open a true outfitter shop
in town by Spring.

I enjoyed Chester and when I hitchhiked out with Kimber and Caeser, a lady
with her young daughter stopped in a Jeep and shuttled us to the trailhead.
She had to make two trips to accomodate us but was more than happy to do
so...very nice people in town.
