Some places have lots of stuff. Some places -- in fact every "town" north of
Ashland except for Cascade Locks -- don't. Snoqualmie being a "big" gas
station, White Pass a convenience store and Steven's Pass none, the rest being
resorts of varying sizes. Going big on the pastries in Stehekin is a good idea.
Sending stuff to these places from Ashland or Cascade Locks is good idea unless
you actually like a diet of pop tarts, mac and cheese, candy bars, and hiker
box mysteries (age, taste and what) the order of which to eat first of no
particular concern.
People should give Leavenworth a thought when at Steven's Pass. Much better
groceries than Skykomish and on the dry side. You have to hitch either way
