[pct-l] Late JMT start?

Well, I hiked from mid-August to about mid-September on part of the JMT and
had wonderful weather. Just a few clouds as I approached Whitney, but they
parted and it was all sunshine. However, I did get a few rain and sleet
showers on the way. Nothing to worry about - I just hiked through it. Not
cold at all. A September start would put you later into the month with a
higher possibility of inclement weather.

But each year is different. Make sure you have gear to suit all weather
types and wait to see what happens. You might want to start at Whitney and
go down, although that is tough from the altitude acclimation point of view,
and it probably is anticlimactic to end at the bottom.

Good luck!
