In July I chose the roadwalk through Carson.

It has a closed grocery store and the mini-mart you folks mention. You could do
a resupply from that store in a pinch, but with a PO just down the street it seems
kinda pointless.

It's right across the street from a mill and business at the store was brisk. It doesn't 
look like it will be going away soon. It was a very nice 'ice cream for brunch' stop. :)
