Hello Bill,
I finally found a pair of Wright socks in one of the local ski and sports
shop. They only
carried one model and had one pair in my size, so I bought it. It is called
a double layer cool mesh. It is white and ankle height.
I think I went into the store with a preconceived idea it would be a much
heavier sock. It is much lighter than my Smart Wool bike socks which I
normally hike in. I would think this sock would be excellent for hiking the
first 700 miles of the PTC as it is very light (more like a liner sock)
especially worn with a 700 series of the New Balance Shoe with lots of mesh
for the heat of the ground.
Cheers,
Marge [The Old Gal]

Marge,
These socks are a double material with Coolmax being the highest percent
material. Most of the Coolmax is nest to the skin which transfers the
moisture away from the foot to the outer layer.
