When I was pregnant, my feet grew about one size--I definitely weighed more, but don't think I walked any more than usual, maybe less. I know a lot of women experience this. So in that case at least, the expansion would have been due totally to the extra weight. I bet insoles would have helped to limit the expansion, though.
