[pct-l] Give Me Shelter Review

--
[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
The "Give Me Shelter Review" needs entries. This is the newest addition to
the ADZPCTKO. It is a review of tents, tarps and hybrids that attendees at
the 5th ADZPCTKO will be setting up there while at the festivities. "PA"
Jeff Zimmerman (AT '76, PCT '77 & '00, CDT '02) is the coordinator of this
event and is collecting the technical information on the shelters, to be
displayed on a sheet attached to the shelter at the ADZ.

Then, anyone can take a self guided tour through the amazing variety of
shelters at the ADZ and be able to know who, what, where and why they are
looking at.

If you plan to attend the ADZ, whether a 2003 hiker or supporter, please send
your commercial or non-commercial technical information to Jeff
(jeffzclimb@aol.com or thru the link on www.pct77.org/adz) so that he can
prepare the sheets ahead of time and he can get a feel for how many and
whether there will be numerous duplicates. Blank forms will be available at
the ADZ for late entries, also.

Jeff's looking for:

- Manufacturer (yourself, cottage industry or commercial manufacturer)
- Name of product
- Cost
- TOTAL WEIGHT (including tent / tarp, fly, stakes, lines, ground cloth,
stuff sack, poles (unless specifying trekking poles), etc. and any
accessories)
- Number of people
- Footprint size
- Maximum Height
- Materials of construction
- Number of seasons
- Miscellaneous interesting fun facts (highest wind, most snow, privacy or
lack of, extreme flamibility, problems with construction, advice on
construction, how old, etc.)

Entries from the entire range of the possible will be accepted. Come on, who
will show off the heaviest one?
