[pct-l] Money

Many places accept credit/debit cards, although there are some towns where =
the WHOLE town will not accept them eg Wrightwood, just North of San Bernar=
dino. Many post offices, not all, will give you CASH BACK, although if you=
come early in the day they may not have any cash to give you. In general =
it helps to have cash on hand.
PS To keep weight to minimum throw away change and any bills smaller than $=
10 as you leave town. Just kidding, actually keep some smaller bills becau=
se sometimes they come in handy.

Hi,

I am curious as to how most thru hikers handle their hotel, resupply, etc m=
oney.

Do most people take it in the form of cash, or money orders, or traveler's =
checks?

Do most people start on the trail with all of their money?

How often are credit cards used?

Any input on this is most appreciated.

Thanks,

Heidi
