[pct-l] High Sierra how busy?

Rebecca
Yosemite IS totally crazy and busy in August, but you
can get a permit 24 hours in advance from the permit
station. I live here and that's how I do it. I've
never had a problem getting a permit that way. I
believe they hold 40% of the quota spaces for "first
come, first served". As for hiking in the Whitney
zone, I think you still need to check with Inyo NF
(their website is down, or I would have checked that
as well).
So, come a day early, get your permit and hang out in
the Meadows for a day.
Have a great hike!
